A new benchmark for commercial PV systems
With the new Sunny Tripower X 60, SMA is launching a powerful PV inverter specifically designed to meet the requirements of commercial PV systems. Whether installed on rooftops, carports, or in ground-mounted systems – the SMA Sunny Tripower X 60 inverter impresses with its versatile applications, straightforward installation, and intelligent system integration. As of now, the Sunny Tripower X 60 can be ordered via SMA’s sales channels.
“The Sunny Tripower X 60 is the result of intensive dialogue with our installer community,” said Marcus Spickermann, Executive Vice President Home and Business Solutions at SMA. “This new inverter combines integrated energy management, maximum flexibility through five MPP trackers, and the highest cybersecurity standards—all in proven SMA quality. Businesses benefit from an efficient, reliable, and future-oriented energy supply. Featuring an integrated System Manager and the option for integration into the SMA Commercial Energy Solution, it provides a well-engineered solution for modern PV projects.”
The Sunny Tripower X 60 delivers up to 60 kW of power at 400 V AC and supports both high-current and bifacial PV modules. Tool-free DC cabling, wall-mount design (inverter weight: 50.5 kg), and intuitive commissioning via the SMA 360° app significantly simplify installation. Using SMA Speedwire, the inverter can be seamlessly integrated into existing systems, including storage solutions, e-mobility charging infrastructure, and energy management.
Its integrated System Manager function replaces the SMA Data Manager M, supporting up to five inverters and one energy meter. This eliminates the need for additional hardware. At the same time, centralized control and monitoring are enabled via the Sunny Portal powered by ennexOS. Features such as SMA ShadeFix, I-V generator diagnosis, and SMA Smart Connected support yield-oriented operation and simplify maintenance and monitoring.
The Sunny Tripower X 60 also meets current safety requirements: SMA ArcFix protects against electric arcs, integrated residual current monitoring enhances operational safety, and the cybersecurity standards reflect the latest state-of-the-art technology. The device is certified according to EN 50549 as well as VDE-AR-N 4105/4110.
